2008 CAHP TECHNICAL SEMINAR SERIES
CAHP actively plans and sponsors up to five technical seminars
per year. These seminars are held throughout California, and offer
an excellent educational opportunity to our member health plans
and other health care organizations. Past seminar topics have

Disease Management: How Do We Maximize Our Return on Investment?

This seminar will tackle questions related to the value realization from disease management programs including both benefits to employers and other payors from improved health as well as the actual financial return on investment in disease management. We will look at where the disease management industry is currently and where it is heading in the future. Attendees will also have the opportunity to consider how to manage this nation’s most serious health threat: Obesity.

This technical seminar will be an interactive learning activity where participants are invited to submit or bring case studies for consideration by faculty. Each one-hour discussion will consist of 45 minutes of information, followed by an interactive discussion.
At the end of this program, participants will be able to:
Identify adherence improvement strategies that are related to improved care and cost savings in patients with chronic disease.
Define strategies to address the challenges of limited health literacy in patients with chronic disease.
Recognize cultural, behavioral, and psychosocial issues that impact adherence to medication regimens and techniques to address them.
