Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board

The Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board oversees several programs aimed at individuals who do not have employer-based coverage or who purchase health insurance through the state’s small group purchasing co-operative, PacAdvantage. The state children’s health insurance program, Healthy Families, offers health coverage to low-income children under 18 who do not qualify for Medi-Cal. Additionally, MRMIB manages the state’s individual high risk pool program, the Major Risk Medical Insurance Program (MRMIP).
