Consensus Guidelines on Bariatric Surgery
The bariatric surgery workgroup was established by CAHP to gather information and develop recommendations around three important aspects of bariatric surgery policy: 1)patient selection criteria, 2) best practices, and 3) criteria for “Centers Of Expertise (COE)”.

Overweight and Obesity Provider Toolkit
The California Association of Health Plans (CAHP) and the California Medical Association Foundation (CMAF) are collaborating with commercial and Medi-Cal managed care health plans, physicians, state agencies and other health provider organizations to complete a provider toolkit addressing the prevention and early identification of obesity and weight management education. Individual toolkits will be developed for adults and adolescent/pediatric patient populations including a variety of informational resources and tools.
